I believe they're held at the county archives office, Caernarfon; archives.caernarfon@gwynedd.gov.uk  01286 679095 They are open Mon - Fri, closed for an hour at lunchtime.

I'd be very grateful if you could let me know whether these  records would include 20th century burials. I'm looking for the grave of Annie Isabel Stephenson, nee Bindloss (wife of Harold Stephenson, b Liverpool 1860) , who died at 32 Carneddi Road, Bethesda, in 1941.

I'm also interested in finding out whether there are relevant electoral rolls in the archives, and whether these might lead me to Annie and Harold's children.

Any  help  much appreciated.

Hi,

Harold and Annie married in 1887 (West Derby, Sept Qtr, Ref 8a/584) and in the 1901 census they were living at 7 The Grove, Lower Bebington. Wirral.

Harold was 41, Annie age 32 - no children present. I have found a tree that also suggests they had no children.

Gwynedd Family History Society has various publications for sale (which include memorial inscriptions) and they may help you to find the grave.

Alan

Hello Alan

Many thanks for the helpful information. I will contact Gwynedd FHS.

Re Annie and Harold, I've been able to establish that they did in fact have children, but at least one child died in infancy. What complicates matters is that they lived for a time in Queensland, Australia, but eventually (I don't know when) returned permanently to the the UK. (A family story, verified from a passenger list is that Annie returned temporarily at least once in order  to give birth.)

Thank you again for your help: much appreciated.

Mary
