Have split your post from Todd thread in Antrim Requests board and moved it to the general Antrim board.

The first part of your information seems clear-
John TODD (bc1790 Antrim) m. Isabella MOWBRAY (b.c1800).
Son John TODD (b.Londonderry) m.1st Jane PURDY/PURDIES (b.Ireland)- 2 sons:
1. John TODD (b.1858 Randalston) m. Elizabeth MAXWELL.
(3 of John and Elizabeth Children migrated to Australia in the 1920)
2. Hugh TODD (b.1865 Londonderry) m. Catherine HUNTER.**

-but could you clarify this part-
"second wife Jane McCARTHUR who was married to a Peter FLYNN and had a son Peter born about 1879
John TODD and his famillie migrated to Thornliebank,Scotland and work at the Calico Printworks in Eastwood Thornliebank"
Who was Jane married to? was McArthur her maiden name? her 1st husband Peter Flynn? and who is the father of Peter born c1879?
John and family- is this John Todd bron 1858?

** Hugh TODD born 2 Dec.1865 Articlave district, Co. Londonderry (mother- Purdey)
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

This is probably off topic, but my father was born near Randalstown and he mentioned that the actor, Richard Todd, came from around there.  Perhaps there is a connection.

I'm not sure what you're looking for and what you know about the descendants of these Todds, but we are doing a DNA study of the Todds and if you know of any male Descendants of the line your are studying, then testing their DNA would give you the potential of linking to other branches of the family , including those who remained in Ireland.

By the way, Richard Todd the actor was the grandson of an Andrew Todd born in western Tyrone (Castlederg), not Antrim.

Any relation to Virginia McClelland?  My Mom was friendly with her.  My Mom's family was evacuated to Toomebridge during WWII. That's where she met my Dad!
