Hi
  I have found a possible place of death for my Grandmother in france in 1958 and was wondering how I can go about researching records in France

For a record in 1958 you will have to contact the Mairie (town hall) of the commune directly. Because it is within the last 100 years you may have to supply some proof of your relationship.

If she was a British citizen, and particularly if she was only temporarily living in France when she passed away, there may also be a record of her death in the overseas section of the GRO.
