« on: Wednesday 20 May 09 13:01 BST (UK) »
Hi Everyone

I hope you can help me; I'm looking for some photos and any information or memories you have of the old house at home Pub and its location on Pimlott street and which brewery it was supplied by. my dads said that his family lived there as the land lords, but he's a bit hazy with the details!

Kind regards

Ali

Correction
There was an "Old house at home " pub on Pimlott street.
There is a very poor picture of it in this book
SALFORD PUBS PART 3
by Neil Richardson

Price £5.75 available from Salford Archives/library

Hi Ali, Migky

My family should have known this pub!  It's on the Broad St to Ellor St section of Pimlot St Pendleton - or it was.  I've seen both of those on census etc!  In fact any of Pendleton!

Unfortunately by the time I saw it, most of their area had been flattened!

By 1854, the only mentions on the bit between Raven St and Chaney St are the Red Lion at 2 and "THe Old House at Home" Public House (PH) Jn Yates!

Presumably yours indeed!

Thank you for the clarification, Migky.  At first I thought that Ali was referring rather quaintly to her old family home, not a pub!

I'll see who else I can see tomorrow, Ali.  Sorry there was noone at the other pub!

Best wishes

Hi Emms

I made the same mistake when my dad told me about the pub! its an odd name and aparently they move to a pub with the exact same name!

John Yates was my Great granddad on my nana's side, they before that of after it they move to another pub called the old house at home! I think it was on glen helen street, but I'm not sure!

Hi Ali

Thanks for the feedback!

I'll have another look.  I couldn't just see Glen Helen St.

Yes, one branch of my family seemed to move between similarly named addresses.

I wondered if they changed the name?  I wonder too if that could have happened with the pub?

i'll get back to you.

Best wishes
