I've just discovered an Ellen Fanning in my family tree, having a child in 1886.
The name appears as the mother on the birth record for a Richard Browne, born, Caher, Co. Tipperary.
I've started searching for John Browne/Ellen Fanning marriages in Co. Tipperary in 1886 or earlier, but I've drawn a blank so far.
I checked your MyHeritage tree and couldn't see any Ellen Fanning from this era.
Your TribalPages site needs a login, so I couldn't check there.
But from what I have seen you don't have any Browne's in your tree.
However if you have an Ellen Fanning born in Ireland anywhere between, say, 1836 and 1871, and you haven't identified her husband, then we may have a lead?

Most roots researched back to the early/mid 1800s. Years noted as 'pre' refer to my direct ancestors, although I'm interested in any relatives:
Mitchelstown, Co.Cork: CORBETT (pre1935), SWEENEY  (pre1935), CUSACK? (pre1894), KEYS? (pre1894)
Mallow, Co.Cork: BROWNE (1895-1935)
Caher, Co.Tipp: BROWNE (pre1895), PURTELL(pre1895)
Cashel, Co.Tipp: FANNING (pre1886)
Llanelly, Carms: GRIFFITHS (pre1934), REYNOLDS (pre1901), WILLIAMS (pre1934)
Ton Pentre, Glams: LEWIS (pre1901)

Thanks for that,

I couldn't find any obvious way to make direct contact via the blog, so I added a comment to the first post on that page - "Fannings in Latter Day Saints Records". It doesn't seem to show up yet, but I guess there's probably a quarantine on comments until they've been checked? I suppose I just need to check back every few days?

I noticed another Fanning-related topic here at http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=372579 regarding a Fanning family in Tipperary town c1850-1890. Maybe there's a connection to your Fannings?
