woodhouse rd cemetery, Hunslet leeds?
« on: Saturday 16 May 09 18:23 BST (UK) »
Don't know if anyone can help........looking for a burial of Harry or Henry Hickton, who died 17 Nov 1919 and is supposedly buried in this cemetery...his age was 57 or 58.  He may have been buried in a paupers grave or it could just be family hearsay...
Thanks Fi

Hi Fi,

There is a burial record for Harry Hickton at Hunslet Cemetery, 19th November 1919.
It doesn't specify if it was a paupers grave.  I have pm'd you.

Do you live in Leeds? It is possible that they have the grave numbers indexed at the Central Library.
Sorry should have said the burial was the 20th not the 19th.

Hi Fi,

I found the entry number and grave number for you.  Entry No 29722   Grave No 13743. In consecrated ground.

I did search the Hunslet cemetery burial records fiche, but couldn't find the burial.  It was very difficult  to search as there is no apparent order and some entries have been obliterated, so it is possibily there, it would be easily missed.

You can  email cems.crems@leeds.co.uk and give them all the info that you have and they say that they can help point you in the right direction.

Good luck,

Elin
