Mystery need help please
« on: Saturday 16 May 09 14:20 BST (UK) »
What we have is John Oddy (no birth or parents known)marrying Hannah Littlewood (born abt 1818 Yorkshire) on the 4 Apr 1836 at St.Peter Leeds Yorkshire England (IGI).
They had son's
Charles born abt 1837 Leeds
John born abt 1839 Chris. 9 Jul 1839 Leeds Par. of St Marks
and then sometime after this date left for Australia because another son William was born on the 10 Dec 1841 in Tumut NSW Australia.
We can't find the family coming into Aust. but obviously they did or my wife wouldn't be here now.
If I can get some help from a good detective out there. Could they have been in England when the 1841 census was taken with William being born Aust. Dec 1841? How would I find out John (senior) as well as Hannah's birth date.

IGI has an Ann Littlewood (this is the spelling they also have for her at her marriage to John - assuming you have the correct marriage of course) being baptised at the same church in which your Hannah/Ann was married.  This baptism is 8th November 1819 and her parents were Thomas & Mary Littlewood.  Any use?
BTW the 1841 census was taken on 6th June so it is possible that they could have then made it to Australia in time for a baby to be born in December!
