The 1851 census information for Bossall is available at Selby Library if anyone is able to get there to help Torte out.

I've trawled the 1851 Bossall and other villages in the parish but can't find them. Some of the census is appalling to read, so I may have missed them

The 1851 census index for York area shows a Jane Kirk aged 5 born Escrick at 2356 052 (Escrick)

At the same reference there is also:

William Kirk aged 49 born Wheldrake.
William Kirk aged 71 born Newton
Susan Kirk aged 47 born Manchester
Sarah Kirk aged 24 born Riccall
John Kirk aged 49 born Wheldrake
Hannah Kirk aged 3months born Escrick
Deborah Kirk aged 2 born Riccall

Looks as if this might be 2 separate households.
Researching Moon, Jeffrey, Umpleby, Mortimer, Lowcock, Lynch, Naylor, Cobb, Emmott, Lofthouse, Limbert, Brooks, Gilbank, Wilkinson, Watkinson, Hebden, Hey and Clemie in Yorkshire
and
Myatt and Lawrence in Staffordshire and Warwickshire
