Hello
Yes, Albert would love to know the names of your relatives,..........

Firstly, he wondered, LizzieW, if your relative, George William Wright, is connected in some way, to the William Wright Docks for the larger ships than the fishing trawlers?

He also gave a very interesting description of the subway at the end of Witty St, which was the access to the fishing trawlers dock, which used to flood!
And, a pub, sounded like "Rainers", where the fisherman stopped in on their way home, after long trips away fishing nr Scapa Flow, pockets bulging with their wages, and splashed the cash'!

He remembers the tobacconist/sweet shop, selling newspapers as well.
AND, the customs man, who used to stand waiting for disembarking fishermen, and accost them, even though away on their trips, they hadn't actually landed anywhere else!

He was always exempt from these searches, as he was wireless man, therefore allowed to disembark early, and never was accosted!

Cheers
Danchaslyn
