CANFORD Baptism / CORBIN
« on: Wednesday 13 May 09 12:18 BST (UK) »
Hello,
Could anybody PLEASE help with access to Canford Magna Baptisms.
I'm seeking details of JOHN CORBIN Baptised c1796.

Parents are thought to be John & Rebekah.
Siblings are thought to be Rebekah c1792, David c1798, Mary c1803, Abraham c1805.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You and regards, Alan.

Hi Alan,

The Dorset FHS have transcribed Canford Magna baptisms (1720-1837) and offer a look-up service;  £10 members/£14 non-members for 1 hour's research.

http://www.dorsetfhs.org.uk       for more details

Records are also on the Find My Past site (pay-to-view).

Hi Alan

I know you were looking for baptism records and this only has burial records for Canford Magna but this site is great for Dorset searches:

www.opcdorset.com

Good luck

Hello Nanny Jan and Kim,
Thank you both for your replies.
I have now checked Canford Baptisms via Findmypast - no luck there.
Dorset OPC is very helpful, although their updates have recently gone quiet.
I must keep searching.
Thanks again. Kind regards, Alan.

Hi Alan
One of my ancestors is Mary Ann Corbin who was born in 1803. She married William Bailey Lamb in the parish of Seaton and Beer Devon in 1824 and emigrated to Australia in 1829.
I haven't been able to locate any details of her family to date.
Do you have more details on your John Corbin?
Regards
Carmel
