1825 birth Joseph Humphry/s

I would appreciate any help regarding the birth details of above :)  The info I have through family is that Joseph's parents were Joseph and Jane and I think the parish is Rusper. Joseph migrated to Australia and then married Thomasina Roberts Matthews in Willunga Sth Aust in 1854. I have no details of the migration date/ship :( Joseph is my gr gr grandfather, many thanks :)

I dont think that the Joseph that you have found is the one I am looking for dorliz :( but thanks for your effort :)

However gougy i am interested in your Joseph as the details seem to fit with what I know, I had no idea about siblings but I will investigate this further :)
Could you please explain what  IGI is and if I can access this source, many thanks again,

The genealogy website/database of the Mormons. Not all Sussex villages are covered but Rusper baptisms are there for the period you're researching. You could also try a another post requesting a look up in the Sussex Marriage Index for a Joseph Humphry to a Jane pre-1823.

Just a suggestion but on your next post try and put the name of the family and info you're looking for etc in the title - It'll help your post to stand out a bit more  :)

There is a Joseph HUMPHREY age 26 in Plumstead, Kent in 1851. His birthpace is Rusby, Sussex. Lodging in household of Jeffery EVERNDEN, which happens to be a pub called the Prince of Wales - HO107/1590/305/31.

Don't think there is such a place and that it is more than likely Rusper. Only Joseph that I can see. None spelt as HUMPHRY.

In 1841 there is a Joseph HUMPHERY in Rusper aged 16. He is a male servant in the household of a Thomas SANCTUARY and family, unfortunately not at home - HO107/1097 6 Rusper Sussex 13 7 8

1851
Puttocks Cottage, Rusper
Joseph HUMPHERY, head mar 53, Ag lab, born Surrey, Newdigate
Jane HUMPHERY, wife mar 50, born Sussex, Ashurst
Benjamin HUMPHERY, son 7, Scholar, born Sussex, Rusper
HO107/1648/F425/P23

Rusper is just on the Sussex side of the Sussex/Surrey border, and Newdigate is about 4 miles north in Surrey. Cowfold is about 10 miles south of Rusper, and Ashurst about 5 mile ssw of Cowfold. Beeding is probably Lower Beeding which is about 3-4 miles north of Cowfold.  So Joseph and Jane marriage at Cowfold looks likely to be parents.
