Thanks Bob will keep that on file and see how I go with chasing up the other info first.Have emailed a few people that wrote letters to that Parle site so will see if that avenue provides some additional information. Once again much appreciation for everyones assistance. When your still learning the ropes and the resources on offer all these clues help to add to your own knowledge base.So you all provide valuable assistance on many levels.Cheers Erika

Erika,
I have quite a deal of information on both Richard Parle and Mary Spellecy, as well as their wedding photo. One aspect of their marriage certificate is that it records the wrong information of Mary's parents. This was something that proved frustrating for years until i got on the right track. Mary's parents are as stated in the forum Matthew Spellecy and Honora Moloney. Honora was born in Tulla and Matthew in Cratloe. Two of Matthew's brothers also came to Victoria - Denis and Martin.
Richard Parle was born  on 19 Feb 1831 in Ballyvaloo. His father James was born in 1787 and died 13 Oct 1837. Ann Nolan (or Nowlan) died after 1837 and is buried in the same grave as James but no date is recorded.
which family are you descended from? Lomax, Cashmore or Trainor - I actually went to school with many of the Prendergast boys (Trainor family). Gerard

Gerard
Richard and Mary are my Great Great Grandparents. I am currently compiling my family history and would appreciate a copy of the information also, including a copy of their wedding photo if possible. I stumbled over this string during my research. Their son James was my GGrandfather.
If I can be of any assistance with that branch of the family just ask.

Greg
