Elizabeth Fleming help please
« on: Thursday 07 May 09 23:19 BST (UK) »
I wonder if any one could help with the father of Elizabeth Fleming b1845 married David Gray Usher in West Derby Lancashire in 1863.

They had several children in Liverpool 1864 - 1870.

Finding it very difficult to find this lady.

Thank you

Jim

HI,,CANT HELP WITH FATHER AS I CANNOT ACCESS 1851 CENSUS FOR LANCS,,,,,BUT,,,,,,,,THE ELIZABETH FLEMING WHO MARRIED A DAVID USHER WAS LISTED AS BEING BORN IN SCOTLAND,,IS THAT CORRECT AS FAR AS YOU KNOW,,,IF SO ,,IN THE 1861 CENSUS AN ELIZABETH FLEMING IS LIVING IN THE BEDDEN FAMILY HOME AT 66 ATHOL STREET.LIVERPOOL. SHE IS A SERVANT, BORN 1845 IN SCOTLAND.  COULD BE HER. IF SOMEONE COULD TRACK HER BACK TO 1851 YOU MIGHT GET THE FATHER.  REGARDS,,MIKE,

Hi,

I too think in 1861  elizabeth fleming is a servant to john and jane beddows (provision dealer) in athol st Liverpool
RG9 2657 148 30

no sign of her in 1851 -probably she was still in scotland - and as we don't know what part of scotland she was from, it may be necessary to get marriage details for name of father

Thank you for you're help, the 1881 census says that Elizabeth was born in Carmyle, Lanark, Scotland.

I have the marriage as 1863 in West Derby, but this was using FreeBMD and you get any parent details.

Jan although the birth year is correct the birth place isn't the same and i should have written that in my original post, sorry.

I have checked ScotlandsPeople for the 1851 Census and i get 25 results this is why i was looking for the marriage details hopefully to get the father.

Thanks everyone for you're help, anything else would be gratefully received

Jim
