Good grief - 1959! I was under the impression it was long gone by then. Just shows - first-hand knowledge and all that.

Thanks, Sporran

Sporran beat me to this
I was reading some thing here and thought no Belford Road in Tweedmouth

Years ago before the Berwick by pass the road from Belford to Berwick went passed the Miners Arms up the hill as Sporran says at Scremerston

Try Linda at the Berwick Archives she's good and if she has a photo she will send you one I'm sure

Hello, I used to live in Scremerston Cottage previously The Miners Arms between 2001-2007. A builder has bought it derelict and had half finished it when we bought it. Somewhere I have an old photo of the owners back in the 1700’s. We sold it unfortunately to a car dealer in 2007 I think.

Hi Janie
You have probably met, therefore, the essences of some of my forebears, who also lived there. That photo would be interesting - any chance of you getting it scanned and posted here? No matter if you can't - it's nice to get further news on the place.

Hi Mike, yes we met lots of ‘essences ‘ while living in the house. Most nice ! It will take me a while to find the photo. A couple knocked on our door one day and asked if they could look around as their ancestors had lived there. Is there a way you can send me your email so we can talk more.

I think I've replied, Janie - so you should have my message by now. If not, give me a prod and I'll try again.
