warwickshire research
« on: Monday 04 May 09 12:45 BST (UK) »
hi i would really love to visit warwick records office as i have loads and loads of things to look up, i put their site on and was very disappointed to find they only ope for a few hours on a saturday all other records offices i have visited open all day. I can only visit on saturdays and because it is a very long journey for me its not worth it for a few hours. I have noticed coventry histroy centre open all day on saturdays, could anyone tell me what parish records they hold as this may be worth a visit for me.

Hi Sharon:  they do have a website, but it's not terribly enlightening as far as parish register coverage is concerned "parish registers for Coventry and some surrounding areas"  ::) ::)  You may do better to ring them - 02476 834060

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thanks for that do they also hold records at coventry central library and if so would they just be the same as what they hold at fhc.

Hi, I don't know whether you can help or not.  Am researching my Edwards family from Warwickshire. My gt.gt.gt.grandfather was born Warwicks (can't find his actual birth place) but he married Monks Kirby 1798 to Mary Lines. His name by the way was William Edwards b 1764.  He had 5 children, 3 of whom I have found information on but the other two I just can't find anything - this is where I need your help.

1.  Sarah Edwards bap 5 May 1805 Monks Kirby, but I can't find any marriage or death.
2.  Marriah Edwards bap 13 July 1807 Harborough Magna again can't find any marriage or death.

The family all lived in Easenhall Warwickshire.  The other children were Thomas Edwards b 1811 he died 1880, Rebecca Edwards m Edward Constant 1821 2nd marriage to John Barnett in 1875, Rebecca died 1883 Foleshill and William Edwards bap 1799 Harborough Magna he married Sophia Rogers and he died 1883.

Any help you can give is appreciated.
