DNA testing has NOT been done of any relative or soldier at this stage as far as I am aware.

Our the primary focus of our research is to compile the family histories and trace living family members preferably down a female line although recently we have seen in media reports that male DNA is useful too.

Umm, Hi Sandra,

Do you know why your research team has Douglas CASWELL's father as deceased when Douglas enlisted?
I ask this because at page 27 of 27 of Douglas' AIF papers, it clearly shows Mr E Caswell, father as signing for the Memorial Scroll on 17/10/21  and as far as I understand it, 17/10/21 is the date.  That would mean Douglas' father was alive in 1921.

Very confusing for me!

I am the one responsible for gleaning information from the service records and compiling the family trees.  However, I have to state that NONE of this work has been double checked.

Having written that the father was deceased on enlistment there must be something in his file to have alerted me to the fact.  I will have to go back and look through it again :)

Thanks for the heads up :)

Bright Blessings
