John TOOLE,

from his embarkation papers  his n o k was Mrs Margaret Toole, mother, 3 Mountjoy St Liverpool England, and he was 27 when enlisting on 19 Aug 1914, a single man, Storeman, with no address listed in Australia.
The address is as per the list on rootschat, but his mother's first name on those embarkation papers is Margaret.

I will check his enlistment papers at the National Archives and compare.

John TOOLE

was born Aintree, Liverpool, Lancashire Eng on his enlistment papers.  His mother was his next of Kin:  Margaret Toole, 3 Mount Joy St Liverpool England.   He had previously served in the 5th Batt Lancashire for FOUR years.
He was 27 years 2 months when enlisting on 22 August 1914.
Hope that helps find him in UK census records.
Just Moi, cause I don't see that would be same John Toole as in the snip of Ruskie's quote below

Hi Annie,

Do you know where your list originated from?  Cause on John TOOLE, I can find his AIF papers, and get the addy for his n o k, but with different first name for his mother, and that could be why the authorities have not found anyone to check for DNA matching?

Just a thought, from Just Moi.

Hi All,

My OH and I will make time this evening to compare each name on the list with the AIF records and with their embarkation records.  I won't post any further until we have double checked and can give you some more clues.

Ruskie ... given that they named their NOK in the UK then it is highly likely (from past experience) that the came on their own.

Bright Blessings
