Geoff ... well the Hunter Valley is so well known :)

Have you considered checkiing all the newspapers for the area at the time of the war and post war.  There may be newspaper articles concerning the memorial and the names that appear on it.
Another source of info is the local studies/history society and even the Council.  I have sometimes found that there are little bits and pieces tucked away that are long forgotten.

Good luck :)

Bright Blessings

Thanks Sandra and JM,

I have been researching these guys for about 5 years and as you know you come on a gem or a new lead every now and again.  I am a newcomer to Rootschat from a Googel search of BR's name.
I am currently living and working in India but am due to return to AUS after July when I will do some searches of the news media as you suggest.  I know the State Libray in SYD has most of that on microfiche (is that the right spelling ??)

Regards,

gt

That is the correct spelling :)

I have been having a text conversation with my 'partner in crime' (Tim) and he may well get back to you later this evening.

(Ms Marple needs to crack the whip around Sherlock's (Tim) ankles every now and again).
