Please can any one tell me when Cuckoo Arch was taken down.
I know the supports each side of the road remained for many years.

Looks like 1931 or 2. Certainly there in 1910 as there are postcards of it on ebay from then and definitely not there in the war years as there was an anti tank pillbox "near the remains of the Cuckoo Arch". Another document says it was demolished during upgrading of the public road so I'm assuming that
a reference in the national archives to road improvent of Stainburn road at the Cuckoo Arch 1931 refers. All found by google.

Hello, Cuckoo Arch was demolished on Sunday 29th October 1931.
