Mary Medora Carr & Frank Earl
« on: Thursday 30 April 09 17:33 BST (UK) »
Mary Medora Earl (nee Carr) christened 5th April 1868 in Castleford, Yorkshire, England and husband Frank earl (30th June 1867, Clifton Bedford, England) have disappeared from the England census after 1881.  As Medora's brother emigrated to the USA after 1881 I am wondering if she did the same.

Any information that anyone can give me about my Great Grandmother's Sister would be appreciated

I'm not so certain they disappear after the 1881 Census:

1891 England Census

Clifton, Bedfordshire, England

Frank Earl b. 1868 age 23 Head of Household
Mary M Earl. b. 1868 age 23 born Castleford, Yorkshire

And in 1901 in Kirkstall, Yorkshire:

Frank Earl, head, 33, ?? maker, born Clifton, Beds
Mary M Earl, wife 33, born Castleford, Yorks
Piece: 4247; Folio: 82; Page: 7
(at Ancestry their surname was mistranscribed as Carl)

I found them on the 1891 census as well but not in Clifton, Bedfordshire. They were in Whitwood, Yorkshire as follows:

Frank Earl, head, 23, glass bottle maker, born Clifton, Bedfordshire
Mary M. Earl, wife, 23, born Castleford, Yorkshire
Piece: 3762; Folio 63; Page 8

There are two Frank Earls born and living in Clifton on the 1901 census who may be the Frank Earl who died in WWI. They were born 1893 and 1896. The Frank born in 1868 seems a little old to be fighting in the war.

Many thanks for this, much appreciated.  I must be going blind as I checked both the 1891 and 1901 census on two different websites.

I'll check again
