Hello Kate
Welcome to chatting!
In the conversations above it gives most of what I know about Sophia. I now know that she was born in Kensington Sq in 1762 baptised at St Mary Abbots Kensington. It would be easier for me to help if you could ask a specific question. I was in touch with Robin 9 days ago & he seems further ahead than I am---- there is still a lot of work to be done trying to find proofs & I am waiting for help from Kensington & Chelsea Family record office.
Tell me what you want & I'll do my best to answer.
Regards
Vesta

Hi thank you for replying, how are you related? Im related through Letitias daughter Mary Robinson who married Henry Wookey. I know quite a bit about Letitia but nothing about John Robinson except he was born in Bristol.  I did wonder if there is any pictures or paintings of Sophia Trelawney, but Im not sure which direction to go.  I have typed her name in but only come up with her father as he was a formidable person and in those days Women did not have a great role to play. I just want to know as much as i can really as they seem to be a very interesting family.  I work part time so im nearly always on the computer tracing a few family lines if i get time.  I live in Somerset so quite well situated for going either to Cornwall or Pembrokeshire eventually. Hope to hear soon from Kate.

I to would love a picture of Sophia TRELAWNY no E in real Trelawny's. My Great Grandfather was a nephew of Sophia he was (Edward ) John Trelawny. Well known for the cremation of the Poet Shelley. Known as Edward John but baptised only John.
Gen Henry (Harry) Trelawny Govenor of Landguard Fort E.Anglia, & the family lived first in Kensington Sq & then moved to Soho Sq. His only son Charles inherited Soho Sq.
Letitia Ann Freeman ran away with the gardener John Robinson from her parents estate of E. Hook Hall, she appears to have forfeited her inheritance by doing so. Later John Robinson was a Tailor. I am still working on Sophia.

Hi thank you for confirming a story that had been passed down through my side, that Letitia ran away with the gardener, My mum would have been thrilled to hear this Nan always said that this was the case but did not know which member of the family it was.  I noticed that Sophias sister was also called Letitia, did she ever marry? I will fill you in on the rest of the family by sending it to you on your web site, will let you know if I find anything else from Kate.

Hi Andy
Just got back from Cornwall from a Trelawny Memorial service.
Yes we are related indirectly & given time I can tell you how. You are not correct about Sophia's birth at Shotwick Park. Sophia was born in Kensington Sq --I have her baptism. Her older brother Charles did not inherit Shotwick park until c 1802, I have exact date in hard copy somewhere. Sophia was married from the later family home in Soho Sq.
I will get back in touch shortly.
