robert clark b abt 1841 dumfies birth not recorded

On the Illinois death index, there is a Robert B. Clark who died 19 Nov. 1918 in Joliet.  You can see it here:  http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/idphdeathindex.html  According to that site, death certificates do have parents' names & birthplace on them.

I don't think the Robert Clark in Joliet, Illinois is yours. On the 1900 census there is a nephew named Eugene Clark, born Feb 1878 in Canada listed with the family. I found a birth registration for a Eugene Clark born 5 Feb 1878 in Ontario and his parents are listed as David Clark and Charlotte Baker. I then found a marriage registration in Ontario for David Clark and Charlotte Baker and he listed his parents as John and Catherine Clark.

its all a bit confusing because i found eugenie on the 1881 canada census .mulmur simcoe  south ontario .shes a girl aged 3 .

I just took a second look at the birth registration for Eugene Clark and it does have an "F" for sex. The informant on the birth registration was not the mother or father so maybe the person made a mistake.

Added: It would appear that the birth registration and 1881 census were in error by listing the sex as "F". I have now found a marriage for Eugene Clark, son of David Clark and Charlotte Baker to Emma Christina Sinclair in Ontario in 1910.

well it could be roberts great nephew because he had a brother john born 1824 scotland and he had about 9 kids .cant find him on 1850 census .he had a son john born 1849 .may have had a david .

Which one, the Illinois one or Family Search Labs?  You could try putting "Illinois death index" or "family search labs" into a Google search and click on the first few results.  If that doesn't work, it may just be your computer.

Or you could try to get an obituary to see if he matches up with your Robert.  There's a person in Will Co. Illinois on www.raogk.org who does look-ups in Joliet.
