hi robert clark emigrated in 1845 to usa with his dad robert b1796 and mum margaret b1799 .i have him in  1850 census kirkland oneida new york .after that i have followed a few leads but they seem to be different roberts .please note that james clark my gggrandad b1836 moved back to blyth northumberland wed elizabeth kell in 1861 .he was a master mariner .
 i followed a robert who wed a bertha schulz in michigan but he was born in 1835 .can you find the right one .

Looking at the 1900 census, I tried searches for
Robert Clark, born c1841 in Scotland, immigrated 1845 (+/- 5 years)
Robert, born c1841 in Scotland, immigrated 1845 (+/- 5 years)
and do not see him.

i have a possible  1870 census robert age 28 detroit ward 7 wayne michigan wife helene age 25 (harriet later ) .in 1880 census robert is only 36 wife harriet 34 detroit wayne michigan .in 1900 census robert 54 and harriett 51  .they had 9 children.this robert died before the 1910 census .
 have tried robert and  bertha 1880 census monroe michigan but his dad was john .

ive just found marriage for this robert clark and harriet hilling in trenton wayne michigan date 23/4/1869 .can you get parent info from certificate .also harriet died 20/5/1929 dad robert hilling mum ann smith

There are Michigan marriages from that time frame here:  http://labs.familysearch.org/  I don't see a certificate for Robert & Harriet, but there appears to be one for daughter Mable.

The Robert in Wayne, Michigan seems also to be there in 1860 with some other Clarks from Scotland, altho this isn't a game-ender:

Possibly a better bet is this Robert in 1860 who is residing with the Navin family of Yonkers, NY:

Still not great since Yonkers is abt 240 miles from Oneida.

 i agree that robert was in yonkers in 1860 farming .i looked at 8 possibles in 1900 census .the only one that stands out is whiteford ,monroe,michigan  wife bertha then caroline .robert was born in march 1841 in dumfriesshire according to 1841 scotland census .
however the lds say that this robert was born in dumbarton.can this be checked .

1870 in joliet,will,illinois age 27
1880 in joliet ,will , robert clarke age 39,wife mary age29,robert age 4 ,agnes age 2.
1900 census robert p clark b1840 joliet ,will,illinois  wife sadie .
marriage robert clark to mary ann green july 13 1875 in jackson
he died before the 1920 census in illinois .
can i check parents from marriage or death certificate
