Hi Rose
Once again, no problem.

It is definitely not village (no tall 'spikes' to the middle of the word that would indicate the double L). It looks more like common, especially when you then look at the 1861 entry where the address is very clear.

1861 census has:
Herefordshire, Brimfield
RG9/2083/46/4
13, Brimfield Common
Didlick:
Thomas, head, mar, 58, Ag Lab
Ann, wife, mar, 68,
Sarah, dau, Unm, 34
Ann, dau, unm, 27
William, grandson, 11,
Marenson(?), grandau, 9
Harriet, grandau, 6 months, Herefordshire, Eye
All others born Herefordshire Brimfield

(I have just noticed my spelling error on the 1871 census transcription :) whoops!)

Regards

Nell
