Have you ruled out the possibility that there may be one or more Alfred RULE's in the Kadina area at this time. This was during the period of the copper mining boom. Unfortunately South Australian birth certificates do not give a lot of identifying information about the parents eg no date and place of marriage, place of birth etc. Do you have some other documentation?
I cannot see any marriages in the SA indexes for the above two girls.
Cheers
Cando

Hi Wendy,
I can only find one Alfred RULE arriving in SA
Alfred
RULE
departed Plymouth as an assisted immigrant 29 July 1865 aboard the
ADAMANT
arriving Pt Adelaide 17 Oct 1865.
He was listed as aged 22 from Cornwall, a copper miner. No other details except that his fare was fully paid.
From the Cornwall Census he appears to be the son of George RULE and Catherine EVA. George was a Tailor.
Marriage took place in Camborne

Hope it helps...........Kris

Hi wendy, 4 years after your post, but...
I'm Christina's GGGrandson, she ended up in Ballarat, please let me know if you're still interested in knowing more.
I'm very keen to know more about Alfred Rule's forebears.
Rich
