searching for my grandad

can anyone tell me where to search for death certificates, i am looking for my granddad, he was born in 1899, he was one on the 1901 cencus, he divorced my grandmother and i am trying to trace what happened to him.

The GRO indexes (assuming that you have reason to believe he would have died in England/Wales.)

Otherwise Scotland's people if in Scotland.

You could get some sort of starting point from the date of the last child born to them, and the date of the divorce.    Perhaps family could help with the information.

he lost touch with his two children, they were put into care, there is no one else that we know to ask, last child born 1930.

if the last child was born 1930 and you know what year that child was put into care it would narrow down your dates. say the child was 10 yrs old you would need to look at the gro death records from that year. which could take time. or add his details and some one may just find him for you. good luck

Hi Jaka,
If he married youngish and in England his marriage may be on freebmd site.. their transcriptions are entering the 1920s now...
worth a look-as it would give you a fixed date.
