Hi there,

Will do my best for you.

Good work so far KHP.

Do you know if Isabella was married?

Did Isabella have a middle name?

Would make it easier to find a marriage for her.

Thanks so much.

I suspect Isabella got married but I do not have any idea of who it would be. That's another mystery I'm slowly unravelling.

To maybe confuse things - in James Bannister Simpson first marriage to Lillian Vogel - they had 2 sons: Gilbert Bannister Simpson (b. abt1908, d. abt 1966) and William Simpson (no additional details for). I just hate that they were so unoriginal with names as it gets so confusing.

Ahhh yes I think from the 1881 Scotland census there was an F but no full details on what her middle name might have been

If I look back on her family, Rachel Simpson nee Bannister parents were James Bannister and Isabella Fletcher ... so perhaps with the pattern they were following could Isabella's middle name be Fletcher?? Worth a try?  Gilbert's name takes after William's father....

Hopefully Willliams probate might shed some light .... if she did get married her married name will be noted.

Might get some luck with the death notice, but pre 1950 siblings or children weren't usually mentioned.

Cheers

If she was living in the cChristchurch area when she got married I can check the church card index and see if I can find her that way.

Can check for any others with the surname SINPSON as well if you like and then go form there.

Newbe

added There is a Isabella Florence Simpson married to a Alfred Edward Holmes 1900/815 Reg Number
Also a Isabella Fletcher Sinpson married to a Ernest Robert Long 1904/6426 Reg Number

I am thinking that Florence would make more sense

Good one KHP.
Isabella may have been cremated then as no death in Christchurch cemetery data base so far

Excellent.
Tho I wouldn't discard the Isabella Fletcher Simpson as Isabella's grandmother was Isabella, maiden name Fletcher!!
