Your piggy bank will be slowing deflating with all the certs you probably will get.    Genealogy is addictive but it can be expensive, and it gets to the stage where you have to decide which certs are really important compared to the others.

I have some date of deaths for you.

I also had photos of the plaques but am going to go back tomorrow and redo them as I did not like them and they are hard to read.

They were in a book of memories and not in the Garden with the tree where some of your people are.

Any way,

William SIMPSON was buried at Kaiapoi Public Cemetery on 8 May 1944
I rang them for the dat of death but all they had was the burial date.

These one are under the Natural Tree Court of Memories 2.N

Alister Gordon SIMPSON died 15/10/1988
Jessie May SIMPSON died 26/08/1980
Dorothy May ROBERTS died 17/06/1987

He was cremated at Canterbury crematorium.

I will also get his one tomorrow.

Have no idea at this sate where Jean Maud Hudson nee Simpson is buried.

That is just amazing info.

I just stumbled across a record of William Simpson (Bill) in the BDM Index online. After reading the death notices I see that Bill must have been born before Gilbert and he was.
1904/16826 - William Henry James Simpson. Mother: Lilian May, Father: James Bannister

Looking up the deaths (assuming it was registered under his full name I guess) there was one of interest where dates matched to dob - 1977/42119 aged 72y

Then under marriages there were 2 registered under his full name. I eliminated one where he would have been 16y in 1920 leaving just one of interest: 1926/2642 to Evelyn May REID.

This may help us find out more about him too. YAY - I finally feel like I am contributing!!

William Henry James SIMPSON was cremated at Karor Cemetery in Wellington 1977 aged 73.
