I have removed the name as you mentioned - thanks, wont make that same mistake.
I can't believe that Gilbert Bannister Simpson died in Invercargill. That's very close to home. I can visit that cemetery tho if you know the funeral directors, would be helpful to get their notes please.

All I can suggest is give MacDonald and Western  a ring and if they do not have a record try  J Fraser and Sons limited. Both numbers are in the phone book.

Also the cemetery will be able to tell you who the funeral director is.

The library down Invercargill shpould have copies of the Southland Times on microfilm.

Just ask a Libraian to show you how to use them. They are very helpful.

I am in Christchurch and we do not have the Southland times so am unable to help with that.
