I am also thinking 2 years and not 2 months for Isabella.

They might have the passenger list at the library so can check there if you like for the arrival into Lyttelton

Jazzie, just had a thought ...... the death for James Bannister Simpson at Purewa, you could always post a NZ Herald lookup for the notice or you could email the National Library.

You could also put a request and see if someone can take a photo of the headstone  for James Bannister  Simpson at Purewa Cemetery.

Hi Jazzie,

William and Rachel's son James Bannister SIMPSON died 12/11/1954
So I will go hunt a death notice out for him.

He was cremated so am going down to the crematioium gardens to take a photo of the plaque and then I will be able to see if any other names are on it.
