I have the baptism record for James Lansdown born August 28th 1794. His father was James and mother Susannah. As James Lansdown and Margaret Matthews called their first daughter Susan, I think that he might be the right one.
I cannot believe that Sarah Elizabeth did not know of John's first marriage and children. He had four living daughters, three of which were still living with him only the month before he was married to Sarah. The youngest Susan played an important role in my Mother's life. I believe my mother knew your grandmother as a child.

Hi am & 2 other distant cousins are tracing the Lansdown tree as well ... our common ancestor is Daniel Lansdown b. 1802 Westminster, a Builder ...

We had thought his father was James Daniel Lansdown c.1780 Bristol & d.1838 London, an architect, who married 1.Sarah Pinchon & then later 2.Mary Ann Robson ... one of us is still working through loads of info. sent from another distant cousin in USA .... so we can clarify, if this is correct, then we have the Lansdown tree back to Bristol to around 1600 ....

I have loads of info. on the Lansdowns of Westminster, Camberwell, Lambeth ... so do get in touch!

We have copies of both John Lansdown's marriage certificates and have wondered why the father's names were different. Perhaps it was simply a mistake because I have not been able to find another reason. His father James was born in 1794. Does that make Daniel his brother? We have found out about James Lansdown and Margaret Matthews through censuses and baptism records at the Westminster Archive. I would love to know more about the Westminster Lansdowns. :)

I also am interested  in James Lansdown died oct 16 1838 -architect, 41 years old.  I have nothing about any of his siblings. He was married to Maryanne and had 4 children- George, Mary Ann, James Chester , and Eliza. If this fits into your family I would appreciate any information on the ancestors. My line is through George.

Can you help with any information on Richard Lansdown b.c.1827 at Westminster. He was a plumber, wife Mary ?, and children Emmeline b.1848, Richard b.1850 and Julia b.1854. He may have been a child of James and Margaret (Matthews) Lansdown but not sure.
