That's pretty cool! When I first saw the little boy to the right I first thought he didn't look normal, for want of a better phrase. The thing is I dont know who he is so I cannot research further. Although, for the mother, I think her name was either Margaret Quinn nee McGuigan or Ann O'Brien nee Doonan.

Lisa, thankyou very much, those two restores are brilliant, you are a star!!! I cannot see anything else that needs to be done. I am very pleased with those two reproductions 

Do you think the woman in the pic is in her late 40's? Mid 50's? I have two possibles as mentioned. Ann Doonan (born c1834) and Margaret Ann McGuigan born c1850, both women born Ireland. If I take an educated guess can I presume accurately the woman in the pic is Margaret McGuigan, and her  two sons (they would have had the surname Quinn).

If I had to choose between those two, I'd say it's the younger lady - she looks to be just in her 50s.  The other lady would be in her 60s/70s at this time so definitely not her (unless she's found the elixir of youth!)

I agree with you again, i was about to say that but you beat me to it.

I think that poor child looks ill, anorexic springs to mind, but surely not in Victorian times. There must be other reasons why the poor child is so thin, his mum and brother look well nourished so not likely to be lack of food.

Some absorption problem perhaps. His very thin hands and face mean he has some sort of illness.

I never thought that the child could be so skinny, seems quite sad I hope he survived and went on to marry. He looks about  13?? And his brother, around 18?

Hmm, the mystery deepens...
