Hello Monks09,

Some of my ancestors are likely buried in the old Kilmadock cemetery (this one: http://doig.net/Kilmadock_Kirkyard.html). I plan on visiting Stirling later this summer and thought it would be neat to visit the place. I was having trouble finding it, and was wondering if you could help. Is this it here, right at the centre of the map (link goes to google maps, but I used a link shortener; otherwise the long link messes up the entire page):

If so, I was wondering how I can get there. I would be taking a bus, and there is a bus station directly north of the cemetery on A84. Is it fairly obvious how to get from the A84 to the cemetery?

Thank you so much for your help!

Brandon

To follow on from Monks kind offer, if you do not have your own transport I could give you a drive from Stirling to your meeting in Doune.

Cheers.

I have some parish register copies from 1810-1815, parish of Kilmadock, that list my family's residence as "Perton" or "Purton"? I have searched around but thought I could ask for some help...any suggestions. I have scans of these images, I can post if necessary.

Thanks,

Julius

Hello.
It could be PARTON which is a cottage just outside Doune on the road into Clarkton Farm, If you have google earth etc follow the A84 out of Doune heading for Callander first farm road on left as you leave the village the cottage lies about half way down.
The small wooded areas at the back of the cottage is known as the Parton strip.
