Hi Kenny, I'm new to this particular forum, and am researching the ancestral mob of a mate of mine down in NSW. I'd appreciate anything you have on the following who hailed from Kilmadock/Kincardine By Doune.

John Spittal  m Christen Turner 1697
 John Spittal  b 1698 m Janet Thomas 1722
A quick shufty on IGI has shown several trillion Spittals in that neck o' the woods, but any info or photies would be welcome. ;)

Jim

Hi Jim.
Will see what i can do .
Going by the dates it looks like it will be Old Kilmadock Cemetery which because of it's location is not maintained the same as the others so is
a bit overgrown so it may take a wee while to locate any headstones .

Hi Jeff

I believe my great great grandfather Walter McAlpine was the brother of Sophia Sinclair McAlpine. His only surviving son William Sinclair McAlpine, 1893 to 1938 (there was a younger son Malcolm Sinclair McAlpine who died aged one) was my great grandfather on my mother's side. I recall seeing the name Adam Duncan on a Glasgow family census, presumably a brother of your grandmother? Apologies for the lack of dates, I don't have all my family tree info directly to hand at the moment.

Regards

Claire

Hello folks.
Eventually I got the time and the help of a Friend to have a look around New Kilmadock cemetery today.
Unfortunately we could not find any Headstones for anyone for the years you who asked are looking for.
This is not to say that your Ancestors are not buried there as there is a large area of the graveyard with burials but no headstones.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
If I get a chance tomorrow I will have a look through an Inscriptions book in our local Library and see if I can find out anymore.

Hi Kenny

I'm hoping you might also be able to help me please.

Ann and James McLAREN died in Deanston, Kilmadock. I presume they are buried in the area.

Ann (nee McEWEN) died 19 March 1867 and her husband
James McLAREN died 21 March 1855.

From James' death certificate (being 1855) he named all his children. There is one named Betsy (dec'd) who hasn't appeared in the census I have and I'm wondering if she died as a child and may be buried with her parents.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, but I do realize that you have had lots of requests, so no hurry, only when you have time.

Thanks

Lois
