Hi

Per freebmd

Births September qtr 1855

Harry Knowlden  Cranbrook  2a 416

He may possibly have been illegitimate but this is a longshot as possible parents:

Marriages September qtr 1854

James  Knowlden Cranbrook  2a 670  to either
Elizabeth  Ransley or Eliza Budd

Deaths September qtr 1860

James Knowlden Cranbrook  2a 265

You will need to buy a copy of his birth cert

Hi, I am wondering if the Harry Knowlden you are researching is my Great Grandfather?  The Harry we know was born in Cranbrook in 1856, he married a Ruth (we don't know her maiden name) but she was born in 1866, Maidstone, Kent.  When they were first married they lived in Strood, Kent where my grandmother, Hilda Besse Knowlden was born. Other siblings Maude, Vera, Dora, May, Harold, Stan, Gus, Hilda and Frank.  My great Grandfather was a master butcher and allegedly lost a lot of money on the horses!  Do you think we are talking about the same person?

Hi Moley66
Thanks for getting in touch.....I'm new to this, my parents have done a bit of research and it got me going.  Ruth and Harry are on my Father's side of the family..... do you know people further back - we got stuck this far!  I'd be interested to know.  Thanks again.
