There is a marriage for an Elizabeth Breakingbury 4th quarter 1881 Andover Hampshire Wiltshire
2C 447.
Possible husbands John Hopgood or James Richardson. Could she have remarried after the death of her first husband?

Does that mean you are looking for the death of her first husband? Only 3 on Ancestry and none of them fit!

I've looked on FindMyPast from 1878 to 1881, and cant see any Breakingburys. The only one near it is Henry Breakenbury aged 71 Aylsham second quarter 1881 4B 56, which doesn't look likely.

Perhaps she told a little white lie and wasn't married! Have you sent for her marriage certificate to James as this will probably give her maiden name as well as Breakingbury and her father's name and you may be able to find her first marriage that way.

Good luck

I cant see any Breakingbury marriages beween 1870 and 1876 on FindMyPast either. It's a very uncommon name!

I'll be interested to hear if you come up with anything.

May I suggest that you also consider Brackenbury/Brackenberry/Brakenbury etc.

Have you looked under those names at all?

Nell
