Frederick Field
« on: Wednesday 15 April 09 15:01 BST (UK) »
Hello, once again I'm asking if anyone can kindly help me find out details about Frederick Field dob 1867, who died in the Boer War. His parents were Frederick Field dob 1843 and Annie Reynolds dob 1840.
I know that he was in the Honourary Artillery Corps (HAC No 1 Coy) as I have some silver fish servers and cutlery which were won by 'Private Frederick Field 1882'. This makes him to be 15 years old at the time? However, I have contacted the HAC and no record can be found of him. Any ideas out there please?

According to the GRO Index of Natal deaths 1899 - 1902, there are 2 F. Field who died:
F. Field of the 2 Lincolnshire Regt (page 345)
F. A. Field of the Bethunes Mtel Infy  ??? (page 112) Edited to add: Bethunes Mounted Infantry

I assume that Frederick died in the second Boer war

Thanks very much for the information - I have just looked again at the message from the HAC stating that they have no record of Frederick Field! ???
