Hello Again Donnie Mac,
I have got a bit of history for you on Milton Cottage.
Built circa 1880, was owned by A E Pickard, a well known Glasgow entrepreneur/eccentric. He also owned the Queens Terrace, the backs of which are adjacent to Milton Cottage.
Your ancestors were probably the first tenants in Milton Cottage.
Mr Pickard sold the Houses in the Queens Terrace in the late 1950's (1958) to the tenants for £150. He sold Milton Cottage for £350 to a man called Willie Thompson, again, the current tenant at the time.
The house was sold again in the mid 60's to Miss Steel, a retired nursing sister who worked most of her life in then Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). She died in the late 1970's and the house was sold to a retired Royal Navy officer and his wife, then to Mr & Mrs Logue. The current occupant, I'm not sure of her name.
If you still want a photo or two, I'll take some when next home visiting my parents who still live opposite.
The cottage referred to by Alibally is 'Vulcan Cottage' which is next to Milton Cottage. I knew her gran well!  ;D
Hope this helps.

Apologies,
There was also a Mrs Bryan lived in the property before Willie Thompson.

Hi,

I'm been doing some research for another purpose and found my subject is shown in the 1921 Census as living at Milton Cottage, Argyll Street in Dunoon 2nd Ward in the Civil Parish of Dunoon & Kilmun. At that time there were 16 occupants spread over 4 households.

The related census number is 1921 Census 510/1 11/S 5 (meaning page 5 of 11)

You may be able to track back using earlier official census returns to find the individual you seek. Good luck!

Note: I tried to send you a screenshot but it was rejected as the file size was too large. Unfortunately reducing its size also reduces its quality making it impossible to read clearly, sorry!
