Thank you so much for responding and for alerting me to the responses! I would love the additional Burgess info or other about the Butcher's Arms. I think that the last time I was on this forum was about 9 years ago, so I'm extra-delighted to hear from you on the forum.
I understand that my 2nd great grandfather, John Burgess, was the proprietor there around the turn of the last century. I've since visited a 2nd cousin who lives not too far from there, and he showed me the town, the area, and John's headstone. I spoke with the fellow who had recently purchased, moved into, and remodeled the house that John lived in. The apartment flat on the same street looks to have been a remodeled Butchers Arms, actually. A great uncle went to the Catholic school down the street from there, and drowned in the Severn.
