I have a birth certificate for Charles Riley
born 8 oct 1858 in Bull St, West Bromwich
Parents Sarah Pierson, James William Riley
I am struggling to find any records, can anyone help?  Anything at all would be greatly appreciated

I can see one in 1881 in Manchester married to Elizabeth and with a 14 year old brother Thomas,  would this be the right person?

It seems James and Sarah were married in 1854 at Dudley St Thomas.

What occupation does it give for James William on the birth certificate please?

There is this one in West Bromich in 1861

I think this is the same man in 1871 and he is married to a Sarah

Looks like we are on the right track then - in 1871 daughter Julia is still with her now widowed grandmother

It looks like James William died beofre 1881 - here are Sarah and the remaining offspring in 1881 and 1891

OK - I have a possible now   

I think this is Sarah before her marriage in 1851 - there are a couple of possibles,  but she did name one of her sons Noah (you would need certificates to prove some of this)

Now although it gives Charles as Pearson the birth year and place are right for him to be Charles Riley their grandson.
