Hi Ian Eve and Jason

i am a descendant of william and Ellen McHenry, he is my great great great grandfather, he had a son called John (Martha) who came to Australia in 1859 and is buried at creswick in victoria died 1987, he had a son called John Charles, died 1919 buried at Wonthagi in Victoria, he had a son called Francis william, buried in a porpers grave in Sydney, he had a son caleed Herbert Clifford , my father, died 1983 in Melbourne, i am Ross Gregory born 1956 an living in Melbourne. untill I found your information here i did not know what part of Ireland we were from other than the county of Antrim. Is william Buried at Glenarm? Does any one know if we have any relatives still living in the Glenarm area?

Nice to know we are all related, i have been researching my family tree after i recieved as a present for my 40th birthday a history of my family back to William and Ellen mcHenry, i knew nothing of our family tree other than my Father, his father had gone missing when he was just 3 years old.

The most interesting McHenry i have followed is a Robert John McHenry, i found his name on his Fathers head stone in Creswick, all it said was Robert John, killed in the great war 28/7/1916 in France aged 21 years, from this starting point i have found an amazing amount of history of this brave young man who was killed, shot through the chest from machine gun fire leading his men across an open field in Poziers france, two years ago i went to france and stood on the very hill and area where he lost his life so bravely only 21 years old, next month i will follow his footstep to Gallipoli in Turkey

hope to hear from you all

regards

Ross Gregory McHenry
