Dotty, through Jean I was able to get an address for Roland's nephew Jeremy. I wrote him a letter, which took about 3 weeks to get to him as some of the address details were slightly wrong. He was shocked but over joyed to hear all my news about Roland. He also sent me several pictures of him. I was able to invite Jeremy to the Unveiling of the Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park a year ago today. I was there with my cousins, brother and boyfriend. We met up with Jeremy and his wife and daughter. They were so happy to meet up and thanked me profusely for finding Roland. We had tea together at the hotel opposite Green Park. So finally, after 70 years, Jeremy finally knew what happened to Roland :-)

Well what a wonderful story.  And how very nice of you to do this for Jeremy.   I have never heard of Jeremy either.   Where does he live?

It must have been a very special day for you all.  When you say Green Park, do you mean Green Park London?

My Gran, Roland's brother would have been thrilled to hear all this.   Thank you so much.  I must say I am feeling very nostalgic at the moment.

Love Dotty

Dotty......

You got that wrong . Roland was your gran's nephew.
His father was Horace Victor Cheetham, your gran's brother.

Hope you are both well ? I am afraid this past year has not been a good one for me, but I think I am getting there. Jim is in good health, and will be 80 in January.

Just getting ready to go to York , to a Family History Fair.

Much Love
Jean and Jim

Lovely to hear from you.   I was just about to write to you personally.  And oups, yes I missed out a generation.  I'm feeling very nostalgic at the moment and I think it is because I have just sold my place in Birkdale and hence feel my past has just gone.  I think I will have to go and visit and do all the old places.   I always used to go past Twembrook (Grans's house).

I'm sorry to hear that you have been not too well.   Let me know by my email how you are.  I will be writing to you too.

Enjoy New York.   I love it.

And did you ever get back to down south to check out the Cheethams graves.

Thinking of you.

Hello Shirley,

Yes I come to London often.   How did you get on with your family research?   Do you have more details for me too.

When Ii come up to Preston I will contact you if that is ok with you.   No plans for the moment though.
