Microsoft Word Problem

Hi Everyone,
Can anyone help please, I've typed lots of letters using M W and never had a problem until today when I was half way through this letter when a Warning notice appeared with the heading...
Microsoft Visual C   Runtime Library
Runtime Error
Program C:\Program Files\ MicrosoftOffice\Office D\Winword.EXE
Abnormal Program Termination
 OK
When I click on OK Microsoft Word swithes off completely.
Then, when I restart up M W there is the normal blank page, although this time with a box on the left hand side of this blank document with the statment.......
Document 1 (Recovered) List saved with Autocover 8 April 2009.
When I click on the Doc 1 Icon my original letter which I started appears.However, this is quickly followed by the Warning notice again, and I'm back to square one.
I would appreciate any help on this problem

Do you have the disc and can you reinstal Word? Looks like it might be corrupted.


Or have you got Detect and Repair?

Hi Hallmark,
I have not got detect and repair. However, to reinstall Word seems to be the only option if all fails, although , I'm fiddling along with MW at this moment and hopefully will find a solution.

Thanks for that great piece of info, thats exactly my problem. However,
I must go out now, so tomorrow I will try one of the three methods to remedy my fault and will let you know the outcome.
