There is a public tree on Ancestry" The Hayes Family" owner id-hayeszt, with William Paulucci in it might be worth checking it out they seem to have done a lot of research on the family,However they have his parents down as Peter Paulucci  born 1792 Everton,Newark on Trent,Notts Died 1867 Sheffield and Ester 1791-1861.So you need to contact them see if theyve veried this info.

Hi Carole thanks for your help sorry I haven't answered sooner, been working, looking at the 1841 census that you've given me they could be the parents of the William Paulucci that I have although I can't see that it is the same John and Frances that married in 1842,because William was born about 1830ish,I did find William on the 1861 census with his wife and some of their children Emma wouldn't have been on because she wasn't born until August 1861 and the census were usually taken round about end of March or the beginning of April except in 1841when they were taken in June, the only other census I found with William and Sarah and their youngest son on was 1891,but by then Emma was married to Albert Shepherd in 1879 so she was on the 1881 census with him as Emma Shepherd

Hello,

My GGgreat Granddad was William (1828). His daughter Sarah (c1859, West Brom. my ggreat grandma) would be claypits' sister.

Sarah married John Hughes in Sheffield before moving to Killamarsh (where he grew up)... the majority of the Paulucci family seem to have moved there too. Later Sarah moved to Scarcliffe, derbyshire as did some of her brothers and sisters. I have been told by my g aunt that 'oo she was a nasty woman' always agitating.

As regards William i notice in the 1881 census the family is listed as the Johnsons.. a clue to his fathers identity John Paulucci (1899). until about a month ago I had presumed his Father was Peter (1792) but this clue gave it away. Paulucci would have been a bit of a moth full to victorian barnsley so perhaps that explains the name change.

Has anyone got any Paulucci photos?? I only have one as far back as Sarah (1859). They can be seen on my ancestry account if anyone is interested.

Ta, Tom.
p.s I recently acquired a marriage and death certificate for Peter Paulucci (c1762) it would seem his father was a farmer in Italy name of Benjamin (or the Italian equivalent)... Peters cause of death is listed as 'old age' unsurprising I suppose.

Hello
It does seem that we have the same family, I too have Sarah in my tree as Emma Jane's sister and I have John as William's father but I just guessed the date at about 1804 thankyou for confirming it as 1799.The spelling of the name is very confusing it throws you off the scent of finding the info you are after because on 3 different certificates with Emma Jane's name on it is spelt 3 different ways on her Birth Cert it was spelt Pellucy, on her Marriage Cert it was Pelucie and on on her son William's (my grandad)it was spelt Pelusy.
I wish I could help you with some photos but the only photo I've got in connection to my Great Grandma is 1 of her grave taken in St Giles Church Cemetery Killamarsh if that is any good to you ,I would love to see the photo of Sarah but I'm afraid I'm not a paid member of Ancestry, the only other way would be to swap e-mail addresses.
Was Peter Paulucci b.1762 John's father?

yes Pietro Paulucci of York (where he first arrived in England during his late teens) married Lydia Rowbothom of Newark in 1783 (she was born in Leicester, her father was a William also). John 1799 was their last child (that I can find anyway). There is talk that Pietro (Peter) was involved in building works to the York minster (how true this is I do not know). He was also listed as a merchant in York, this is probably how he found himself in the country. Peter died age about 95 years in Sutton Bonnington and married his third wife aged about 80.
As regards the Paulucci surname Ive had Palucie as well but also Palivil which is nowhere near. This last one was particularly difficult... my great uncle believed that there had been Italians in the family but we did not know where or what their name was so it has taken me two years to make the Paulucci connection. Not only does their name change but so does the location (many of the Pauluccis did not know where they were born). One useful link is that much of the extended Paulucci family were brickmakers.
Anyway I should be able to invite you to join my tree on ancestry.co.uk as a guest if it would be possible to have your email mine is, somethingreallyrandom_2@hotmail.com and yes any images would be welcome as most of my research is internet based or from record offices.

Tom

P.s My great Grandma Emma Hayes nee Hughes was named after her mothers sister Emma Jane Paulucci your ancestor.
This should be more clear from viewing the tree itself... I tend to confuse people otherwise.

Hi,
I am also trying to track down William Paulucci Helen/Ellen ( helen on marriage cert) but on actual recrods Ellen married my great grandfather Henry Hunter in Solihull, Worcester in 1864.  Emma was the witness. His Occ. was a Agent.  I found William on the 1851 census with Jane wife, children Ellen, Emma, William Samuel and Thomas Lewis. Father William born in Sutton Bonnington, Notts.  I then found him on the IGI , chrisened 26th april, 1815 at Sutton Bonnington, Father James , Mother Elizabeth. But nothing back from there. Does anyone have any other info on him and his family?
I am now living in Australia so a little hard to do to much research from here!! Cheers, Roz
