Hi Bill

I noticed that no one has replied out of alot of people looking at your request.
Its a little vague as to what you would like people to do.  I have looked for different requests before on this site but in this case there are no dates so I have no details to work on for you.  Do you know when Robert and Mundell were born or what town etc.  If you could supply a little more info I am sure people would try and help you.
I have seen a few Robert Clarks with a father called William so it would be helpful if you could provide some more information and we might be able to help you solve whether or not they were twins and if Mundell changed his name to his fathers.

hi sandyc
my ggggrandad robert (mundell ) clark was born in durrisdeer dumfriesshire on the 1/6/1796 .dad william ,mum herries paterson .the lds have him as one person .however the scotlands people have twins robert and mundell .who is right .
robert was wed to margaret weild 30/3/1821 in annan dumfries .he is on 1841 census in annan.he emigrated to usa .kirkland oneida new york state in 1845 .he is on the 1850 and1860 us census .on these occasions his middle name was not used .
cant find a mundell later on but there is a lost william married to euphemia bell in 1836 and on 1841 census aged 45 .possibly roberts twin .

Hi Bill

Dont know if this is the same Robert but I thought I would put Robert Mundell in a US census for you as I couldnt find the ones you mentioned earlier.
I found a Robert Mundell born 1796 in Scotland on the 1880 US census.

He was 84 then and living with his son David aged 48yrs a Farmer with a sister Christina aged 40. There was also a Mother called Jennie aged 78  a daughter called Roxanna aged 13 years and they were living at Scioto, Pickaway, Ohio. It doesnt make clear who Jennie was the mother of but just wondered if Robert got married again and decided to go to his middle name of Mundell? Just a thought.
I think I found Margaret Weild for you born 25th December 1799 a Christmas Day baby in Dornock, Dumfries and her father was called John Weild.
Is this of any help for you?
Let me know
