Hello again,
Forgot to say that the 1841 census has John McLuckie living in Strathbungo Village, Govan, Lanarkshire with his wife listed as Agnes McLuckie.

Hello Helen,

Thank you very much for that info. Yes, I did eventually find John in 1841 once I knew I was not looking for one born about 1805 but one born about 1819.

Very interesting the BUCHANAN connection. I'm betting they are half-sisters so now to prove it.

Regards,

Fred

Hi Karen,

My maiden name is Sara McGibbon.  I have a great-grandfather that was born somewhere, unknown, in Scotland, and eventually married my great-grandmother Anne Augusta Milne,  on 10 Aug 1866.  They had four children, one of whom lived, my grandfather William Milne McGibbon.  He was born and lived in Dublin for his first 17 years.  John, Anne and William came to the US in  1886.  I have lots more info on the Milne family than on any McGibbons.  And that is what i am searching for now, among other people.  All I know is that they went to the Lower Glouster Street Presbyterian Church in Dublin, which became a corn store and is a  ruin now.  It is located on Sean McDermott Street n Dublin City.

I would be happy to discuss any other info I have with you, if you would like.  If you have nay info that might be helpful for me, that would be really wonderful.

I live in the Seattle area of Washington State, here in the US and am workng trying to figure aoout about this McGibbon.  I don't have a birthdate for him, but am guessing he might have been born around 1838 or so.

Perhaps you can suggest something for me to search.  I am a member of ancestry.com and go in to visit that place a lot.

It also looks like you often do research for other people, which I think is great!  I would imagnne you charge people to search for them, right?

Well, please write me soon.  thanks,

saradu
