Hi Fred,

I  am having a bit difficulty, in SP, there is only 1 Robert Mcluckie born between 1810 and 1820 and that is one on 30 April 1820 in Greenock West, with parent's name Janet, but not Allan or Livingston.

I have seen the 1841 census with the 2 children on Ancestry, but there ages were not rounded up. Have you seen the original on SP, could there be a mistake on their ages?

I  can also see Alexander Mcluckie marrying Janet Livingston in Shotts 6 Sep 1812, how do you know that is correct marriage, have you any other evidence?

Hello Tom,

Thanks for looking.  I have no access to Ancestry and I've just gone through yet another 30 credits on SP with my ANGEL family so I'm stuck with zero credits until I get a reply from Bristol RO re 2 marriages and 4 baptisms. My next purchase of credits on SP depends on the number of events, if any, the Bristol RO can find.

I have not seen the 1841 census on SP. All I have is the listing I posted and what I can find on IGI by way of extracted entries.

And, the name appears in IGI and elsewhere as M LUCKIE  Mc LUCHIE  M'LUCKIE McLUCHIE.

but i have a Margaret Mcluskie in my tree who was shown on a few of the censuses as Margaret Mcluckie it my be worth checking that yours has not been registered as Mcluskie

Thank you very much. Family history always said that Robert's parents were Alexander and Janet but until now I've not had anything to support that apart from the naming of Robert & Jean's children. I still hope we can find Janet's maiden surname.
