Dear Newgent and JJ,
Fantastic news that this prominent Wollongong Family is yours.........the Library will have HEAPS of information about them as Henry (aka Harry) was the Mayor for a while. Harry Graham Drive in Mt Kembla is named after him too. Harry Graham Drive is currently under repair due to some rock slides and instability, which have made the local paper. It is a beautiful drive that (when open) runs through the very pretty and quaint village of Mount Kembla (best known for the  Mount Kembla Mine disaster and it's great pub) then up through the rainforest onto the Illawarra Escarpment......it is the weekend bikers delight!

If you like, I will contact the Local Studies Librarian and ask if she can locate where Archibald is buried and if the local historical society had a photograph of the grave. If the grave hasn't been photographed, I will go and take a photo for you. As it is Easter here tomorrow, we might not get an answer until next week, but I will let you know what I find out.

I have just read your new post..........and have sent you a P.M. with her email address so you can ask her for the HEAPS of information they will have. She is a delight.

Seeing you have done so much for me, I can't pick up the courage to ask you to do any more favours. Have your well earned Easter break which will give me space to catch up with you. When I instigated the first post re:  "From Keady to Emy", I thought I would be fortunate if I made a bit of progress over four or five years. I never in my wildest dreams imagined  I'd get here so quickly. I have relations in Melbourne, Queensland and Bateman's Bay NSW. who haven't the slightest Idea whats going on. When I tell them I will ask them to go and give you the biggest hug of your life.

 Before you go for your break I thought you would like to know that I came across a letter Archy had written home to his brother with an address Woolongong, NSW.

Dear Newgent,
I rang the Local Studies Librarian extraordinaire and told her to expect an email from you. I also asked her to find Archibald's grave and she located it at Wollongong Cemetery in the C of E section.

This cemetery was attacked by vandals and is currently undergoing repairs and re-fencing.

I am not sure if I can get into the cemetery, but I will give it a go in the near future.

Hugs......always up for big hugs........your relative in Batemans Bay is the closest.....just down the road really!  (well, it's probably a 2 hour drive!)

Have just spoken to the Local Studies Librarian at Wollongong and she has given me some further information on the grave, so i will potter in there soon and take a photo for you. She is expecting an email from you regarding the Graham family and the information they have there.
