Newgent was the passenger record in 1838 for Archibald GRAHAM your man.  I noted this Archbald was a carpenter.  More curious that anything else as you  mentioned he was a baker.

Dear Cando,
I think I can safely say that Archibald was a baker, although when a good job is on offer, you could change. Archibald was a baker in Markethill, County Armagh and then in English Street, Armagh City. Archibald had a brother, John who was also a baker, although as far as I know, he did not emigrate to Australia. John was alive in 1837. I can't decide at the moment if Archibald (1838) is my man, early days yet.

Do you have this information on Catherine Fox, the orphaned destitute teen from the Irish famine who became his 2nd wife. She raised his six children besides her own dozen or so, plus two of her stepson's children...

and enter Graham and bakery there are three photos of a Graham Bakery at Mount Kembla......not Archibald, but possibly one of his sons.

Wollongong Library has a great Local Studies Librarian.....if you want to pursue this line of research.

As I live in the Wollongong /Dapto area mentioned in JJ's brilliant find , I am aware that the Graham name is quite famous in these parts with one of the Graham's becoming Mayor and having roads etc name after them. If this is your Graham married to Catherine Fox, then there will be LOTS of history at the Library. I can give you the email address of the Local Studies Librarian extraordinaire if you wish to pursue this line of research.

Hi, all!   I hope it is the right person...I thought the dozen children might be a clincher...
It's pretty unusual to have all that information plop into one's lap , but it surely seems right, a widower, a baker, and the 12 children...
So if correct you may have the 2nd.wife's name, Catherine Fox, date of marriage,Oct.  14 , 1852, her parents from Killyman, Armagh Patrick & Fanny, both of whom died prior to her ship sailing in 1848. There is a name listed, as well...Would this be the person who informed them of her history, perhaps a descendant? Oh, sure, there's a gift, and I want a ribbon!

Hi,
Crown Street is one of the main streets in Wollongong. It runs East from the beach and at the eastern end there is a cluster of old commercial buildings (one houses my fave coffee shop)........the middle of Crown Street is the main commercial centre of Wollongong (and now a large mall) and the street continues up the hill to the hospital.
