Just wondering if it might be a corn cob with the leaves half peeled back and a grouse/pheasant under it.

i would have to look at it in daylight, but don't think so it has slight spots on leaves, i wonder if the is a flower about to break at the top.
i will have a look round tomorrow, i cannot see well enough in this light, you might be right you never know
